Where: All workshops held at the Mountain Arts and Music ART SPACE (Old Town Hall in Huntsville: 7309 E 200 S)

Instructors, supplies encouragement and enthusiasm are all included in the cost of the workshop.
Drumming Workshop with Deja Mitchell

Learn to play hand drums! A popular drum seen in drum circles, The djembe is actually the drum of the Mandinka people, the name djembe translates to "everyone gather together."
The djembe has a great cultural heritage in Africa. It may have the widest range of tones of all hand drums. Its healing power is complimented by it's power to make people dance. Both it’s healing and dancing powers are admired and practiced by drummers from Africa and around the globe.
Instructor Deja Mktchell has been learning from master African drum teachers for many years and loves to help new players get started! No experience is necessary. Real African instruments provided for class

GETTING STARTED WITH INSTAGRAM

Instagram is a great tool for creatives and non-profits. Considering whether to use Instagram to promote your art, music, or other business but don't know enough to even make an educated decision? Or maybe you simply want to be able to navigate it to see all of your family's photos.
This beginners workshop will cover the ABCs of Instagram. How to 'share', use hashtags, the difference between a post and a story, linking to Facebook and more. And examples of how other creatives and non-profits are using is successfully in their businesses.
Instructor: Pam Holland is a MAM board member and the founder of TechMoxie, which provides instruction to the tech-hesitant.
This is the first in a series of tech workshops specifically for creatives and non-profits.

Learn how to use pastels to create beautiful landscape pictures. Pam is an experienced artist with artwork in the Mt Arts and Music ART SPACE gallery, she has illustrated a book, created puzzles from her artwork and is a very accomplished pastel painter. $25/person - supplies provided.
