SPECIAL EVENT:Filmmaker Talk
The Making of Will Ski 4 Food, with River and Jeff Hyde
Friday Sept 11 at 7 pm
at Peddler's Cafe in the Mt Luxury Grand Hall.
We are hosting a behind the scenes discussion of how the upcoming film "WILL SKI 4FOOD" came to be!
If you have ever seen a Warren Miller film, you have likely seen the legendary cinematography of Ogden native, Gary Nate. Gary had an amazing nearly forty-year career filming with Warren Miller documenting some of the most influential moments in the history of skiing.
Gary Nate’s son Colby together with Huntsville’s own River Hyde and Rob Tovar have created a documentary with Gary’s footage telling the story of Gary and the remarkable group of athletes and innovators who helped shape the early days of freestyle skiing. These ski pioneers pushed the boundaries of the sport and helped define what freestyle skiing would become. Many of these stories are rooted in the ski culture surrounding Ogden, Utah and Snowbasin Resort and Powder Mountain, where many of the athletes who helped shape freestyle skiing trained and competed.
Before the screening, Mountain Arts and Music will be hosting film producer River Hyde who will discuss the making of the film. Joining River will be Jeff Hyde, who is featured prominently in the film, director Colby Nate and co-producer Rob Tovar. River and the team will discuss the making of the film, which will premiere on October 16 at Snowbasin Resort.
